John Green: Author of Paper Towns, An Abundance of Katherines and Looking for Alaska
An Abundance of Katherines Looking for Alaska Paper Towns anagrams famous last words Bio and Contact

Oh. My. God.

I can't possibly tell you how happy this makes me. (It's a hilarious and surprisingly true-to-the-book faux-trailer for Looking for Alaska made by some kids for an English project.) I particularly like the casting choice for the character Alaska. Also they used real fireworks!

Honestly, the Printz Award was only slightly more exciting than stumbling across this on google video.

I hereby challenge all of America (and you, Australia! I know how many Australians are visiting this blog!) to make more youtube/google videos about Alaska and Katherines.

That was brilliant. Those kids truly rock (and the parents in the birthday scene, too, especially Dad with the backwards horn).

That was the raddest thing ever.
And I NEVER use the word rad.

Hahahaha, that is great! I'm sure when (if?) it's made into a full-length movie they won't find anyone talented enough to play both Takumi AND Alaska. I love it!

Also made me wonder if you ever got a chance to see Tony Hawk in our hotel in Missoula...
Cayce saw Bam Margera after I left, which was kind of a bummer for me because my little sister Jackie LOVES Bam Margera. Oh well, we'll get 'em next time!

AMAZING. Those guys should totally get something for that. That was HILARIOUS. I particularly liked the kid who played Takumi. What a rapper.

That makes me all excited, and I didn't even write the book! But if I wrote a novel and someone made a faux trailer for it, I'd definitely be psyched.

I think I'll write a book today.

..Is that a logical approach?

That ending was the gayest thing ever. Also the greatest thing ever.

While I pictured Alaska looking slightly less masculine, The Colonel and Pudge looked EXACTLY how I imagined them. The Hollywood version will never use real-looking teens, I'm sure. . .

I hope these guys got an A+ on their project. It was pretty awesome.

yeah, and we (we being school librarians) could actually encourage fun stuff like this if it all weren't blocked in schools - google video and youtube. filters are lame as lame can be.

the video rocks. it just makes me sad and bitter and jealous.

i think you should challenge all of Canada to make a video too, because i am so tired of being left out of the cool challenges just because i'm canadian. Also, the best part of that video was probably when he said 'looking for alaska' at the end-that sounded wickedd

I am actually in the process of making a book trailer for Looking For Alaska as an assignment for my Honors English 9 Class.

We were assigned to create a video for a book or our choice, and three of my friends and I automatically chose Looking For Alaska!

I think that was just a little bit better than the book!

Sorry, I just couldn't like Alaska!
