Library Visits in November

Two posts in one day? Lord. What is this, a real blog?

This post is just for librarians:

Hank and I want to do a series of nerdfighter events at libraries around the country this November. Hank will sing at these events; I will read; we'll talk about books and nerdfighting and making the world suck less. (And all at a drastically reduced honorarium!)

We did an event like this in Grand Rapids, Michigan with almost no warning, and it was amazingly successful (more than 100 people came). If you'd be interested in potentially hosting us, email me: work --at-- sparksflyup dot com.

The Next Wizard Rock?

So first, a couple prefaces:

1. One of the most gratifying things about the nerdfighter community and Brotherhood 2.0 and everything is the many communal videoblogging projects that have sprouted up this year. And one of those projects, fiveawesomegirls, is a group of (awesome) young women who live around the country and use videoblogging to keep in touch.

2. Some of the five awesome girls are also wizard rockers (with band names like The Parselmouths and The Moaning Myrtles). Wizard rock is a genre of music in which people sing about Harry Potter.

Songs about books rock, but you know what really rocks? Songs about your books. Members of the fiveawesomegirls wrote and recorded both of these songs about Looking for Alaska:

Long Live Nerdfighter Rock!!!
